New Delhi (NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi extend greetings to the nation on the occasion of Eid al-Adha that is being celebrated across the world and in India today.
Taking to twitter, PM Modi said, “Eid Mubarak! Greetings on Eid al-Adha. May this day inspire us to create a just, harmonious and inclusive society. May the spirit of brotherhood and compassion be furthered.”

President Ram Nath Kovind too, greeted people on Eid and tweeted, “Eid Mubarak! Idu’l Zuha symbolises spirit of sacrifice & amity which inspires us to work for well-being of one & all.”

Eid al-Adha, which is commonly known as ‘Bakrid’, is festival of sacrifice observed by Muslims on the tenth day of Dhu al Hijjah month, the 12th month of the Islamic calendar.
Eid al-Adha is celebrated after the Hajj is performed by the Muslim devotees gathered from across the world in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Devotees offered namaz in mosques across the country, including at Delhi’s Jama Masjid, on the occasion, as followed the norms of social distancing.
