PM Modi Praises High Voter Turnout in Historic Jammu & Kashmir Elections

Srinagar, (NVI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their active participation in the first Assembly elections held after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35(A).  He said, the elections saw a high voter turnout, symbolizing the people’s faith in democracy.

In a tweet, the Prime Minister said, These elections in Jammu and Kashmir have been very special. They were held for the first time after the removal of Articles 370 and 35(A) and witnessed a high turnout, thus showing the people’s belief in democracy. I compliment each and every person of Jammu and Kashmir for this.

The elections, considered a significant moment in the region’s political history, have drawn praise from the Prime Minister, who also congratulated his party, the BJP, for their performance. “I am proud of the BJP’s performance in Jammu and Kashmir. I thank all those who have voted for our Party and placed their trust in us,” he added.

PM Modi further expressed appreciation for the efforts of BJP workers and extended compliments to the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) for their commendable performance in the elections, highlighting the diverse political participation in the region.

The elections are a landmark event, marking the first time the people of Jammu and Kashmir voted for a new Assembly following the major political shift in 2019.(News Vibes of India)
