New Delhi (NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the Budget for this year will enhance a sense of reality and confidence in the country which has been presented amidst exceptional circumstances of COVID-19
In his remarks after the Union Budget 2021-22 was presented by Nirmala Sitharaman at the Parliament, PM Modi pointed the influence of COVID-19 and said, “Amid these circumstances, the Budget is going to put spotlight on India’s self-confidence, and at the same time, it will infuse a new confidence in the world.”
He also congratulated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, her colleague Anurag Thakur and their team for this Budget.
The Prime Minister also informed that the principles behind the Budget include expansion of new opportunities for growth, and for the youth, giving new dimension to human resource, infrastructure development, and helping new sectors grow.
He added that this Budget emphasizes on improving the ‘ease of living’ in the lives of the common people by simplifying rules and procedures which will bring changes for individuals, investors, industry and the infrastructure sector.
The Prime Minister also stressed upon the proactive approach of the government, whether during COVID-19 pandemic or campaign for Aatma Nirbharta.
In addition to this, he said that the Budget doesn’t have an iota of reactive approach. “We have gone beyond active and have given a pro-active budget.”
During his remarks, PM Modi also appreciated the all-round development emphasis of the Budget and said that it is focused on wealth and wellness, MSME and infrastructure. He also noted the unprecedented focus on healthcare.
The Prime Minister expressed happiness that the Budget has taken into account the development needs of southern states, the Northeast and Ladakh.
He added that it is a huge step in the direction of turning coastal states like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal into business powerhouse. The Budget will also be greatly helpful in tapping unexplored potential of the northeastern states such as Assam.
PM Modi further said that special emphasis has been given to strengthen the agriculture sector in the country.
“To increase the income of the farmers, and, therefore, a number of provisions have been made in the budget. Under the agriculture sector, farmers will be able to get more credit easily,” he added.
