Jammu, Jan 06 (NVI): The inauguration of the new Jammu Railway Division today marked a historic moment for Jammu and Kashmir, with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hailing it as a milestone in the region’s connectivity and development.
The event symbolizes the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream of connecting Kashmir with the rest of India through a robust railway network.
In his address, LG Sinha spoke passionately about the profound significance of this achievement, stating that the connection of Kashmir to Kanyakumari via rail was once a distant dream but has now become a reality under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “This railway connectivity from Kashmir to Kanyakumari is not just an infrastructure achievement—it is the realization of the aspirations of millions of people in the region. The government under PM Modi is making such dreams come true, and this project is one of many that reflect the commitment of this administration to the development of Jammu and Kashmir,” he remarked.
LG Sinha expressed his deep gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Railway Minister for their special focus on Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging their efforts to ensure that the region was given the attention it deserves in terms of infrastructural growth. He highlighted that this new railway division will serve as a vital catalyst for economic growth, improving connectivity, and fostering regional integration.
The Lieutenant Governor also drew attention to the introduction of the Vande Bharat trains, which are set to transform travel in the region. “The Vande Bharat trains are a symbol of modernity and progress, and they are soon going to reach Kashmir, setting a new standard for travel across the region,” LG Sinha stated. He further added that Jammu would soon become one of the best railway stations in the world, with world-class facilities and services enhancing the overall experience for travelers.
Looking ahead, LG Sinha emphasized that this is just the beginning. “There is much more in the pipeline for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The inauguration of the Jammu Railway Division is part of a larger vision to transform the region’s infrastructure, enhance economic opportunities, and ensure that the benefits of development reach every corner of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, reiterating the government’s commitment to the region’s growth.
