New Delhi (NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tributes to all the police personnel martyred in the line of duty on occasion of the Police Commemoration Day.
In his message on Police Commemoration Day, PM Modi said the country is proud of police personnel’s diligence and readiness to help citizens.
“Police Commemoration Day is about expressing gratitude to our police personnel and their families all across India. We pay tributes to all the police personnel martyred in the line of duty. Their sacrifice and service would always be remembered,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

Police Commemoration Day is observed on October 21 every year, to remember and honour men and women in Khaki who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
The day commemorates the sacrifices of ten policemen while defending the borders with China in 1959, besides 34,408 other police personnel, who have sacrificed their lives since independence to safeguard the unity and integrity of the nation.
