Pulwama, Sep 18 (NVI): The Pulwama Police swiftly intervened to manage a disturbance at the Bellow polling station in Rajpora area of South Kashmir Pulwama district on Wednesday.
“Around 1:00 PM, a group of miscreants entered the polling premises and began causing disruption by misbehaving with voters,” a police spokesperson said here.
He said, despite the disturbance, the voting process continued smoothly, thanks to the prompt intervention of the deployed security forces who removed the miscreants from the area without interrupting the polling.
As the situation escalated outside the polling station, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Rajpora and his team, accompanied by additional security personnel, arrived to restore order.
The miscreants continued to cause trouble and threatened to block the road. However, the security forces managed the situation with restraint, dispersing the crowd without any harm or injury.
Pulwama Police have taken note of the incident and initiated legal action against those involved, ensuring that the matter is addressed according to the law. —(NVI)
