Srinagar, Dec 27( NVI): The Anantnag Police came to the rescue of nine passengers stranded at Sinthan Top following heavy snowfall and hazardous road conditions.
The incident occurred when a Tavera vehicle en route from Kishtwar to Daksum skidded into a water drain due to slippery roads, leaving its occupants stranded. Acting swiftly on a distress call made by one of the passengers, Fayaz Ahmad, a police team led by SDPO Kokernag and SHO Larnoo reached the site and safely evacuated all nine passengers.
In addition to the rescue operation, the police have deployed special assistance teams across the district to aid commuters and vehicles affected by treacherous road conditions caused by the snowfall.
Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution while traveling during adverse weather and to contact emergency services by dialing 112 for assistance.( News Vibes of India)
