Srinagar, Aug 07 (NVI):- With political instability gripping Bangladesh, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said here today that the government of India is working to ensure that the impact of the situation in the neighbouring nation does not spill over to this country.
Shekhawat, the minister for Tourism and Culture, said the government of India is vigilant and ready to address any potential challenge.
Speaking at a function of Tourism Ministry here, he expressed concern over the fall of an elected government in Bangladesh and highlighted the challenges posed by instability in neighboring countries.
“It is unfortunate that the political instability in our neighborhood has led to the downfall of an elected government. A person can choose everything but not his neighbor,” he remarked.
The Government of India is closely monitoring the situation to ensure that it does not adversely affect the country, Shekhawat said.
The minister said India has a proactive stance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and assured that the country’s borders would remain secure and internal peace would be maintained.
He said terrorism has nearly been eliminated.
“We are committed to India’s progress and development,” Shekhawat stated, reaffirming the government’s focus on stability and security. (NVI)
