President Rule imposed in M’rashtra

Maharashtra (NVI): The impasse over government formation in Maharashtra hit the dead end today as President Ram Nath Kovind approved Maharashtra Governor’s recommendation to impose presidential rule in the state. NCP leaders had apparently told the Governor that the time was too less to stake claim.

Earlier, hours before the 8.30 pm deadline given to Nationalist Congress Party to churn up requisite numbers for government formation, the Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari had recommended imposition of President’s rule in the state.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena has moved the Supreme Court against the Governor for not granting an extension of three days to the party to get letters of support from NCP and Congress.
