Srinagar, Aug 23 (NVI): The Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday said they have attached property of terror associate, worth lakhs of in the North Kashmir’s Sopore.
“In a significant crackdown on terror associates, Police in Sopore attached a single storied residential house belonging to a terror associate Abdul Rashid Najar son of Abdul Ahad Najar resident of Naseem Bagh Krankshivan Colony Sopore along with land measuring 01 Kanal and 01 marla falling under khsara No. 237/1 in estate Amargrah Sopore,” reads a statement issued by police.
It further reads, the attachment was executed under the provisions of Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, after receiving approval from the competent authority. The attachment has been made in case FIR No. 307/2023, registered under Sections 13, 18, 18B, 19, 20, 23, 39 UA(P) Act, 7/25 Arms Act, and 4/5 Explosives Substances of Police Station Sopore.
“This action reaffirms the commitment of the Police to combat terrorism and disrupt the support structures that enables these nefarious activities. By targeting the assets of terror associates, the authorities aim to undermine their ability to fund and facilitate terrorist operations,” reads the statement.
It further reads, the attachment of the property is a part of the ongoing efforts to choke the financial and logistical support for terrorist organizations and their enablers.(News Vibes of India)
