Protesting farmers allowed to enter Delhi but with conditions

New Delhi (NVI): The Delhi Police today allowed protesting farmers to enter the national capital but with certain conditions. The farmers have been reportedly allowed to protest at Nirankari Samagam Ground in the Burari area in Central Delhi district.

The farmers were allowed to hold ‘peaceful protests’, after clashes with police at Haryana border this morning. They have been protesting against the recently passed three central farm bills.

They are expected to reach Delhi through five highways connecting the city. The farmers are heading to Delhi as part of “Delhi chalo” by the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) and various factions of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU).

Meanwhile, the Delhi government has denied permission to the Delhi Police to convert the city’s stadiums into jails for protesting farmers.
