Srinagar (NVI): The Jammu and Kashmir police has advised VIPs and protected persons in the Union Territory not to venture out today on the anniversary of Pulwama terror attack because of ‘adverse inputs’.
The Srinagar police tweeted in this regard and said there shall be no Road Opening Party (ROP) on the ground while informing VIPs to not plan a tour today.
“Today is 2nd Anniversary of dreaded Lethpora Terror incident. There shall be NO ROP on ground. Due to adverse inputs, movement of VIPs/ProtectedPersons has been discouraged and all concerned were informed in advance NOT to plan a tour today,” Srinagar police tweeted.

The police statement came in response to former J&K CM Omar Abdullah’s claims that he and his family has been put under house arrest. Abdullah also posted photographs showing police vehicles outside the gates of his residence in the Gupkar area of Srinagar.
“This is the “naya/new J&K” after Aug 2019. We get locked up in our homes with no explanation. It’s bad enough they’ve locked my father (a sitting MP) & me in our home, they’ve locked my sister & her kids in their home as well,” tweeted Abdullah.
“Chalo, your new model of democracy means that we are kept in our homes without explanation but on top of that the staff that works in the house aren’t being allowed in and then you are surprised that I’m still angry & bitter,” he said in another tweet.
Over 40 CRPF troopers were killed when a suicide bomber rammed his car laden with explosives into a CRPF bus coming from Jammu to Srinagar near Lethpora on Srinagar-Jammu Highway on February 14, 2019. Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad had claimed the responsibility for the attack.
