Quebec stabbing: 2 dead, five injured in Canada, suspect held

New Delhi (NVI): At least two people have died after a man dressed in medieval clothes attacked people last night in the Canadian city of Quebec.

The man stabbed multiple victims with his knife. Two people have been declared dead, while at least five have been injured, according to the reports.

Quebec City Police Department (SPVQ) took to Twitter and asked people to remain indoors and be cautious till the suspect was not caught.

Reportedly, the attack took place around Parliament Hill area in the old Quebec neighbourhood.

The events seem to have occurred at different times of the evening in different sectors of Old Quebec. First reports of the incident came through shortly before 22:30 local time.

However, the suspect was finally located near Abraham-Martin Street in the Old Port. The police in Quebec City arrested the man and transported him to a hospital.

Taking to Twitter, the Police said, “Shortly before 1 am, the SPVQ (Quebec city police force) arrested a suspect, asking residents of the city to stay inside with the doors locked because an investigation is still ongoing.”

The suspect in his mid-20s was arrested near Espace 400e business-park in the Old Port.
