New Delhi: Several parts of India are likely to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall and expected to witness thunderstorms along with lightning and gusty winds exceeding up to 40kmph, the IMD said today.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), “Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy falls at isolated places very likely over Bihar and Assam & Meghalaya.”
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places expected over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura,” the IMD said.
Heavy rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal.
“Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Telangana, East Uttar Pradesh, ” it said.
“With lightning at isolated places: Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Karaikal,” it added.
Heatwave conditions in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and northwest Madhya Pradesh, the IMD said.
Strong Winds (speed 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) very likely over Southwest and Westcentral ArabianSea, North Arabian Sea and along & off Gujarat coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, it said.
