New Delhi: Parts of East and Peninsular India are likely to receive heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning, the IMD said today.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD, “Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Kerala & Mahe.
The IMD has also predicted thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim.
“Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, will also witness thunderstorm accompanied with lightning today,” the IMD said.
Strong winds (speed 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) are very likely over Southwest and Westcentral Arabian Sea.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, it said.
