Rajasthan CM tests positive for COVID-19

    New Delhi (NVI): Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today tested positive for COVID-19. He is in isolation after being asymptomatic.

    “Upon tested for COVID-19, today my report has shown positive result. I have no symptoms and feel fine. I will continue to work in isolation following the Covid protocol,” Gehlot tweeted.

    Yesterday, Gehlot’s wife Sunita Gehlot had tested positive for COVID-19.

    The chief minister had been actively taking part in offline meetings with officials to discuss the overall Covid-19 situation in the state.

    According to reports, ahead of the third phase of COVID-19 vaccination beginning May 1, state Health Minister Raghu Sharma yesterday said that the state needs at least seven crore doses of vaccines to innoculate people between 18-45 years of age.

    According to health ministry data, so far the state has 16,3372 active case, 3,96,279 recovered while 3,926 people have succumbed to the virus so far.
