New Delhi (NVI): Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) today received the best marching contingent award in Central Armed Forces and other auxiliary forces category in the Republic Day parade while Indian Air Force (IAF) got it in the category of three Services.
The trophies were presented by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh here.
This is the sixth time that CISF contingent won the ‘best marching contingent’ trophy at Republic Day parade, the earlier occasions being in 2007, 2008, 2013, 2015 and 2017.
CISF DG Rajesh Ranjan and Deputy Commandant Prabh Simran Singh received the trophy on behalf of the force.
On behalf of the IAF, the trophy was received by Air Marshal M S G Menon and Flight Lieutenant Shrikant Sharma.
Speaking on the occasion, the Defence Minister congratulated the IAF and CISF contingents for their performances during the parade, saying it was the result of hard work and training undergone by the participants which should be an inspiration for the others.
Referring to the feedback received, he said this year’s Republic Day Parade was a grand success and congratulated all the agencies involved in its organisation.
