Srinagar, Sep 10 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir’s Apni Party president Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari today stirred a hornet’s nest by stating that it seems that the BJP’s point-man Ram Madhav was brought back to Kashmir to revive old bonds with the PDP.

Talking to reporters during his maiden visit to Bagh-e-Mehtab area of newly carved Chanapora constituency, Bukhari said he wonders as to why there was no Awami Itehad Party (AIP) candidate in Bijbehara,  where PDP President Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija Mufti is contesting. “It looks as if Ram Madhav was called back to Kashmir after being removed from the General Secretary post in 2020, to revive his old bonds with the PDP.

Perhaps, that’s why old leaders are returning back to PDP camp,” he said.
He said that NC-Congress has a bloody history of 1987. “We all know that what happened in 1987 when NC-Congress formed an alliance. It was a bloody start in Kashmir. Hope it won’t be repeated this time,” Bukhari said.

Bukhari visited Bagh-e-Mehtab area of Chanapora constituency for the first time as a candidate in fray. “This area is neglected and claims of smart city fall flat here. There is a colony which seems neglected for the past so many years. If voted to power, I will ensure that face of this colony will be changed by next year May-June,” Bukhari said.

To a query about former Congress president Vikar Rasool’s recent salvos at National Conference, Bukhari said that clean hearted persons like Vikar have to speak truth. “Even I saw NC MP Mian Altaf stating that they shouldn’t have entered into alliance with Congress,” he said. “The clean politicians, I mean to say Imandaar siyasatdan, will never shy away from speaking the truth.”    (News Vibes of India)
