Srinagar, Jan 24(NVI): Jammu and Kashmir’s bowlers delivered a spectacular performance, dismantling Mumbai’s batting lineup for a mere 120 runs in their Ranji Trophy Group A match at the Sharad Pawar Academy in Mumbai today.

Mumbai’s top order, including Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal, failed to withstand J&K’s disciplined bowling attack. Rohit, facing 19 balls, could only manage 3 runs before being dismissed by a fiery delivery from Umar Nazir Mir, who struck in his second over.

The batting collapse saw Mumbai reduced to 41/5, with notable dismissals including Ajinkya Rahane and Shivam Dube. Shreyas Iyer contributed a modest 11 runs, while Shardul Thakur fought back valiantly with a resilient 51. However, his efforts were not enough as Mumbai folded in 33.2 overs.

Umar Nazir took 2 wickets for 43 runs, while Yudhvir Singh starred with figures of 3/31. Auqib Nabi and A. Mushtaq also chipped in, completing the rout.

With Mumbai’s innings ending at 120, Jammu and Kashmir now hold a clear advantage as they prepare to begin their batting.(News Vibes of India)
