New Delhi (NVI): Parts of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive heavy rainfall and witness thunderstorm today due to the remnants of very severe cyclonic storm ‘Yaas’ which has weakened into a well-marked low pressure area in that region.
“East Uttar Pradesh is likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places on May 28 i.e today,” the IMD said.
Light to moderate thunderstorm with lightning accompanied with light to moderate rain and gusty wind speed approx. 30-40 kmph is likely to affect parts of the districts of Bhagalpur, Katihar , purnea during next 3-4 hours from 8:40 hrs IST of today, it said.
Depression (Remnant of Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “YAAS”) over Bihar & adjoining Jharkhand has weakened into a well-marked low pressure area lay over Bihar adjoining East UP at 0530 hrs IST of today.
Under the influence of this, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind speed 30-40 kmph and light to moderate rainfall is also likely to affect over some parts of Darjeeling, Malda and North Dinajpur districts of West Bengal during next 2-3 hours from 09:50 hours IST of today.
