Srinagar, July 30 (NVI) : At least four residential structures along with a granary of Kashmiri Pandits were damaged in a mysterious fire incident in Mattan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district following which police have taken cognizance.
As per the details available with News Vibes of India—(NVI), Multi-floor heritage houses, belonging to the exiled Kashmiri pandit community, located in the Razdan mohalla of Mattan in Anantnag were damaged in a fire incident
They said that at least four houses were gutted in the mysterious fire late Sunday night around 2.30 a.m.
The family members have demanded a high-level probe to ascertain the truth behind the fire incident, as no one was living in their houses so there is no question of short circuit or any other natural cause and matter needs to be investigated properly. Razing symbols of aborigines, So sad.
They said that these houses belong to Anand ji Razdan, Shadi Lal Razdan and Sham Lal Patwari.
DIG South Kashmir Javed Iqbal said that they have started an investigation in this case already by registering a case with police station Mattan.
He said that a senior police officer has been assigned to investigate the matter.
He said that the robotic approach is being adapted so as to find the cause of fire at an earliest as help of FSL and CCTVs have already been sought.
He assured that investigation will be done at an earliest so that further proceedings can be taken.(News Vibes of India)
