New Delhi, Oct 24 (NV): Sajjan Singh Yadav, an IAS officer of 1995 batch, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir.

The 57-year-old IAS officer of AGMUT Cadre, presently in Delhi, will take charge on November 1.

He will succeed Atal Dulloo, the 1989-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer who is scheduled to retire on October 31.

The appointment ends speculation about Dulloo getting an extension in view of his experience and ongoing administrative engagements.

Yadav is a seasoned administrator with more than three decades of experience in public service.

He has held several key assignments in the Government of Delhi as well as in the Union Government, spanning sectors such as urban development, education, health, infrastructure, public administration, social welfare, and institutional reforms. —(NVI)
