New Delhi (NVI): The Supreme Court today dismissed a plea seeking direction to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Delhi government for waiving exam fees for students of class 10th and 12 in the current academic year in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and financial crunch faced by some parents due to it.
The petition, filed by NGO ‘Social Jurist’, against the September 28 order of the Delhi High Court was dismissed by a bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah.
The bench also directed the counsel to approach appropriate authority in this regard.
Earlier, the Delhi high court had asked the AAP government and the CBSE to treat the PIL as a representation and take a decision “in accordance with law, rules, regulations and government policy applicable to the facts of the case” within three weeks.
