Second Cross-Border Intruder Caught in Poonch Within Two Days

Poonch, Jun 28 (NVI): A Pakistani national was apprehended by Army troops along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Balakote sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Sunday, officials said.

The man was intercepted alert troops noticed him moving suspiciously near a forward post in the Balakote sector, falling under the jurisdiction of Mendhar police station, the officials said.

According to the officials, the individual had allegedly crossed the LoC into Indian territory illegally before being overpowered by the troops.

The apprehended person is in the custody of the Army, while security and intelligence agencies have launched a joint interrogation to ascertain his identity, motive and circumstances surrounding the infiltration, they said.

This is the second instance of a Pakistani national being apprehended along the LoC in the Poonch sector within the last 48 hours, officials added.(NVI)
