Security Forces launch Major Operation in upper reaches of Kathua district

Srinagar, Jan 17 (NVI): A large-scale search operation has been launched by security forces in the upper reaches of the Bilawar area of Kathua district after receiving credible intelligence inputs suggesting the presence of militants in the area.

According to officials, the operation was initiated early this morning after surveillance and ground reports indicated suspicious movement in the rugged terrain.

Teams comprising the Army, paramilitary forces, and local police have cordoned off the suspected area and are conducting meticulous searches to track down the militants.

To ensure the safety of the local population, authorities have issued advisories asking residents to remain indoors and cooperate fully with the ongoing operation. Patrol units are stationed to monitor the situation closely, while reinforcements have been sent to assist the search teams.

Sources confirmed that a large section of the forested area is being combed, with special units deployed to cover challenging terrain. Drones and sniffer dogs have also been pressed into service to aid in locating the suspected terrorists.

The presence of additional forces in the area has been welcomed by residents, who expressed gratitude for the swift action taken to address the potential threat.
