Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today said it killed and injured “several” Pakistani military personnel in 2 attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province since last night.

The TTP ambushed an army convoy in Kulachi area of Dera Ismail (DI) Khan district today, “in which several army personnel were killed and injured while a vehicle was partially destroyed,” its spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in a statement this evening.

He said the TTP also killed 2 personnel of paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) and injured one in a laser gun attack on their camp in Sararogha tehsil in DI Khan district of South Waziristan last night.

Earlier, the spokesman said the TTP ambushed an army unit which was going to raid Tehreek-e-Taliban Hakistan (TTH) in Lakki Marwat on August 24.

When the TTP Mujahideen were returning, they were confronted with FC on one side and the army on the other side, Khurasani said.

A heavy exchange of fire ensued and there is a “high possibility of casualties” among the military personnel, he said, adding “the Mujahideen managed to exit safely.”
