New Delhi (NVI): The popular tourist destinations of Shimla and Manali in Himachal Pradesh today experienced season’s first snowfall.
This brought cheer among the tourists and locals who were waiting for rains and snowfalls in the mountains.
Reportedly, a blanket of snow enveloped at tourist resort in Manali, Kufri, and Narkanda which are near Shimla.
These key tourist destinations Sangla, Narkanda, Khadrala, Kharaptthar and Shillaru and Kufri, were covered under 25 cm, 20 cm, 19 cm, 18 cm,15 cm, 12 cm and 10 cm of snowfall respectively.
Meanwhile, the roads of Narkanda, Kharapatthar near Jubbal and Khirki have been blocked due to snowfall. Also, telecommunication services are snapped in Jubbal area.
The other hill destinations of Dharamsala, Nahan, Chamba, Dalhousie and Mandi received fresh rainfall. Dalhousie received 33mm of rainfall, Solan 27mm, Shimla 21.6mm, Una 16mm, Palampur 15mm, Dharamshala 12.6mm and Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Mandi 11mm each, as per the reports.
Furthermore, the state meteorological department said that the minimum temperatures also dropped by one to two degrees in the past 24 hours in Himachal Pradesh.
