Jammu, Dexc23(NVI): In a significant move against cyber-terrorism, the State Investigation Agency (SIA), Jammu, has filed a chargesheet against key operatives behind the “Kashmir Fight” social media platform.

A police spokesman said that this platform, operated by the proscribed terrorist organization The Resistance Front (TRF), was used to issue threats targeting migrant Kashmiri Pandit employees, with the intent to spread fear and disrupt peace.

The threats, which surfaced in February 2024, prompted a swift investigation by the SIA. During the probe, Farhaan Muzaffar Mattoo, a Srinagar resident, was arrested for allegedly gathering and sharing sensitive information about the targeted employees. The investigation revealed that Mattoo acted as an intermediary, passing critical data via encrypted communication platforms to handlers based in Pakistan, who then issued the threats through the “Kashmir Fight” platform.

The chargesheet also names Sheikh Sajjad Ahmad, alias Sajjad Gul, a Srinagar native now operating from Pakistan, as the mastermind behind the plot. Ahmad is accused of orchestrating the campaign to intimidate migrant employees and create communal discord in the Union Territory.

The filing of the chargesheet underscores the resolve of Jammu and Kashmir Police to protect its citizens and maintain peace and harmony. The chargesheet was submitted today before the Hon’ble 3rd Additional Sessions Judge, Jammu. (News Vibes of India)
