Single-day Covid cases in India dip to 16,167

New Delhi: India registered a decline in single-day coronavirus cases, with 16,167 new cases being registered in the last 24 hours, against 18,738 cases reported during the previous day.

The country’s active caseload stood at 1,35,510 constituting 0.31% of the total Covid cases, Union Health Ministry said today.

The cumulative death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5, 26,730, it said.

The recovery rate is currently at 98.50%, with 15,549 patients being recovered in the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

With this the cumulative recoveries across the country have reached 4,34,99,659, it said.

Daily positivity rate stands at 6.14% and the weekly positivity rate is at 4.64%, the Ministry said.

Around 206.56 crores cumulative vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, the ministry said.

Yesterday, the country registered 19,406 fresh cases and 49 deaths in 24 hours.

On Friday, the government reported registration of 20,551 new Covid cases and 70 deaths during the preceding 24 hours.
