New Delhi: India reported 8,582 fresh Covid cases and 4 deaths during 24 hours, Union Health Ministry said this morning.
The active caseload stood at 44,513.
With 4 more fatalities, the total death toll due to the pandemic since 2020 rose to 5,24,761.
Over the last few days, the Covid numbers in the country have shown an increasing trend.
Yesterday, 8,329 new cases were reported during the preceding 24 hours.
At least 10 deaths due to Covid were also registered during that period.
On Friday, the government reported 7,584 fresh Covid cases and 24 deaths in a span of 24 hours.
On Thursday, the country reported 7,240 cases and 8 fatalities in 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the country registered 5,233 cases and 7 fatalities in 24 hours.
On Tuesday, the country recorded 3,714 fresh Covid cases and 7 deaths in 24 hours.
A day earlier, the country registered 4,518 new Covid cases and 9 deaths in 24 hours.
On Sunday, the country registered 4,270 cases in 24 hours.
