New Delhi (NVI): Senior IPS Officer SN Shrivastava will be the next Delhi Police Commissioner, reports said today. He will replace Amulya Patnaik who is retiring tomorrow.
Patnaik’s tenure was extended by a month due to Delhi Assembly polls.
Earlier, Shrivastava was appointed as Special Commissioner (Law and Order) by the Home Ministry three days ago, in the wake of violence in northeast Delhi.
He will take over as Delhi Police top cop from March 1, a day after the current commissioner Amulya Patnaik retires.
A 1985-batch Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre officer, SN Shrivastava was transferred from the CRPF to the Delhi Police this week.
He has experience of working in different units in Delhi Police over the years including Special Cell and leading investigations. He is scheduled to retire in June next year.
