Soldier’s Body Recovered in Rajouri a Day After Going Missing During Army Exercise

Jammu, Mar 10 (NVI): The body of a soldier who had gone missing during a river-crossing training exercise in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir a day earlier was recovered on Tuesday, officials said.

The body of Sepoy Akshit Sharma was recovered from the Manawar stream in the Khour area by a joint search party comprising the Army, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and local rescuers this morning, they said.

Sepoy Sharma had gone missing on Monday during a river-crossing exercise conducted by the Army in the Sundarbani area of Rajouri district, prompting a massive search operation. Officials said the search was carried out overnight before the body was recovered on Tuesday morning.(NVI)
