Srinagar, July 22 (NVI):- National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah expressed deep concerns over the presence of elements actively working against peace in the region.
Talking to reporters Dr Abdullah as per the News Vibes of India said that these destabilizing forces are intent on disrupting the harmony and security of Jammu and Kashmir.
Dr. Abdullah criticized the Uttar Pradesh Government’s recent advisory, which mandates all shop owners along the Kanwar Yatra route to display their names.
He argued that such directives could potentially incite unnecessary tensions and disrupt the peace.
The requirement for shop owners to display their names along the Kanwar Yatra route is an ill-conceived order that could lead to communal discord and exacerbate existing tensions, he said.
it is crucial for administrations to foster unity rather than create divisions, he added.
He urged the government to focus on initiatives that promote peace and stability and to avoid measures that could incite unrest.
He said that in 1996 elections were conducted when people were being killed every day and today the Jammu incidents shouldn’t become the basis for deferment of elections.
He said that those who were claiming that peace has returned to J&K can’t defer elections on this basis as then they will lose their whole ground.(News Vibes of India)
