Sonamarg, Sep 11 (NVI): In a decisive move to curb unauthorized construction activities, the Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) today demolished an under-construction hotel, marking the continuation of its stringent efforts to prevent illegal developments in the scenic region.
The demolition drive, conducted under the direct orders of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sonamarg Development Authority, reinforces the authority’s commitment to ensuring legal and environmental compliance.
A team from the SDA executed the operation, dismantling the structure that was being built in violation of regulations. The action aligns with the recent directives of the High Court, which has placed firm restrictions on unauthorized construction in the area to preserve its natural beauty and prevent environmental degradation.
The CEO of the SDA emphasized that the crackdown on illegal developments would continue unabated. He issued a stern warning to all parties engaged in or planning unauthorized constructions, urging them to comply with the law and respect the High Court’s directives. “Any violation of the court’s orders will be dealt with firmly.
Sonamarg is an eco-sensitive zone, and we are committed to safeguarding its pristine environment from unchecked development,” said the CEO.
The SDA’s ongoing demolition drive is seen as a necessary step to protect Sonamarg’s fragile ecosystem and to ensure that future development in the region adheres to legal norms. Local residents and environmentalists have praised the move, acknowledging the authority’s efforts to preserve the natural beauty of the region while promoting responsible tourism.
As the Sonamarg Development Authority continues its operations, more illegal structures may face similar action in the coming days. The SDA has made it clear that no one will be allowed to flout the rules, and violators will be held accountable for their actions. (News Vibes of India)
