Jammu, Nov 19(NVI): Speaker of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (JKLA), Abdul Rahim Rather, chaired a meeting today to assess the progress of the new Legislative Assembly complex in Jammu.
The meeting, which focused on the current status and financial progress of the construction, was attended by key officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Secretary of Public Works (R&B) Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary of Law Achal Sethi, Secretary of the Legislative Assembly Manoj Kumar Pandit, DG Finance (Budget) Mohammad Sultan, and Chief Engineer, R&B, among other senior officers.
The Speaker conducted a detailed review of the work being carried out on the new building and discussed various issues affecting its smooth execution. He sought firsthand feedback from concerned departments to address any roadblocks in the project’s progress.
Secretary R&B assured the Speaker that the Finance Department’s concerns would be addressed within two days. Following that, the Secretary of Law will take up the matter with the competent authority to approve the Revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) within the next few weeks.
Emphasizing the importance of meeting deadlines, Speaker Rather directed the concerned officers to speed up the construction process and ensure that work resumes promptly. He called for the mobilization of sufficient manpower and machinery to meet the stipulated timelines.
The Speaker also stressed the need for the project to adhere to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency, ensuring that every aspect of the work meets these benchmarks.
Before concluding the meeting, Speaker Rather visited the new Legislative Assembly complex for a detailed inspection of the ongoing construction, closely reviewing different sections of the building.(News Vibes of India)
