Srinagar, July 28 (NVI):- Amidst an unprecedented heat wave in Kashmir valley, Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 24.6°C, marking the third highest minimum temperature in 132 years.
Kashmir is known worldwide for its cool climes but in the recent times, it has been recording temperatures which are unusually high for this valley.
This temperature is 5.8°C above the normal for this time of year, the Met Department said.
The city’s second all-time highest minimum temperature was recorded on 26 July 2021, at 24.8°C.
The record for the highest minimum temperature remains at 25.2°C, which was recorded on 21 July 1988.
This significant deviation from the norm underscores the impact of the current heatwave affecting the region.
Authorities have urged citizens to take necessary precautions to deal with the unusually high temperatures.(News Vibes of India)
