Jammu, Mar 2:(NVI) : In a significant move aimed at strengthening grassroots democracy, the State Election Commission, Jammu and Kashmir has convened a high-level meeting on March 3 to review the revision of the Panchayat Electoral Roll–2026 and assess the status of delimitation of Urban Local Bodies (ULBs).
According to an official notice issued from the Commission’s office at Vikas Bhawan, Jammu, the meeting will be chaired by the Hon’ble State Election Commissioner at 2:30 PM through video conference.
The agenda includes a comprehensive review of the ongoing revision of Panchayat electoral rolls for 2026, updating of control tables, and evaluation of the delimitation process of Urban Local Bodies across the Union Territory.
All Deputy Commissioners, along with Deputy District Election Officers (Dy. DEOs), District Informatics Officers (DIOs), and Electoral Registration Teams (ENTs) of J&K, have been directed to attend the meeting through virtual mode. The meeting link will be shared separately.
In addition, several senior officials have been asked to attend the meeting in person, including:

Deputy Commissioner, Jammu ,Director, Rural Development Department, Jammu,Director, Rural Development Department, Kashmir (via video conference),Director, Panchayati Raj, J&KState Informatics Officer, NIC, J&K The meeting is being viewed as a critical step toward ensuring transparency, accuracy, and timely completion of the electoral roll revision process ahead of upcoming Panchayat-level democratic exercises.
Officials said the Commission is committed to maintaining the integrity of the electoral framework and strengthening institutional mechanisms to uphold free and fair local governance across Jammu and Kashmir.
