New Delhi (NVI): The number of coronavirus cases in India crossed the 12 lakh-mark today after 45,720 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the biggest single-day spike so far, taking the total number of cases to 12, 38,635, according to Union Health Ministry data.
Meanwhile, the death toll also crossed the 29,000-mark after record 1,129 new fatalities were reported in the country during the last 24 hours.
With 3,37,607 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in the country, followed by Tamil Nadu with 1,86,492 cases and Delhi with 1,26,323 positive cases.
