New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases in India crossed 16 lakh-mark today and jumped to 16,38,870, after 55,078 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the biggest single-day jump so far, according to Union Health Ministry data.
This is the first time that India crossed 55,000-mark in a single day.
Meanwhile, the death toll stands at 35,747 after 779 new fatalities were reported in the country during this period.
