New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases in India are nearing the 17 lakh-mark and have climbed to 16,95,988, after 57,117 new cases were reported in the past 24 hours, the biggest single-day jump so far, according to Union Health Ministry data.
This is the second consecutive day when India recorded more than 55,000 cases in a single day.
Meanwhile, the death toll stands at 36,511 after 764 new fatalities were reported in the country during this period.
