New Delhi (NVI): In the 76th edition of his monthly radio address Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that the Central Government is standing behind all the states in tackling the second wave of coronavirus pandemic.
PM’s radio address comes amid the severe Covid crisis as the country is witnessing shortage of oxygen and beds. Apart from that, India has reported record high number of fresh Covid cases for the third straight day today. The country has recorded 3,49,391 new Covid cases and 2,767 deaths in the last 24 hours, highest single-day surge in the world.
In his address, PM Modi said that after tackling the first wave, the nation’s morale was high and it was confident. “But this storm (second wave) has shaken the nation,” he said.
“To tackle this wave of COVID, I have held meetings with experts from several fields like pharma industry, oxygen production etc.,” he said.
PM Modi also urged people to seek information on Covid-19 through reliable sources only and not fall prey to rumors about the corona vaccine.
