Suspect held from Bihar for arms supply to LeM chief: Jammu IG

Jammu (NVI): A joint team of Jammu and Kashmir police and ATS Patna has arrested Javaid Alam Ansari from Chapra, Bihar, in connection with arms supply to Lashkar-e-Mustafa (LeM) commander Hidayatullah Malik.

Jammu IG of Police, Mukesh Singh said, “One Javaid Alam Ansari has been arrested from Chapra, Bihar with the assistance of ATS Patna in connection with arms supply to arrested LeM commander Hidayatullah Malik.”

Malik, a categorised militant from Shopian district was arrested on February 6 in a joint operation by Jammu and Anantnag Police.

He is the chief of Lashker-e-Mustafa, an offshoot of terror outfit – Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) – in Kashmir valley.

Incriminating materials, arms and ammunition including two pistols and grenades were recovered from Hidayatullah Malik’s possession.
