New Delhi (NVI): Delhi witnessed a cold morning today with the minimum temperature recorded at 6.5 degrees Celsius as people headed to Rajpath for the Republic Day Parade. The country is celebrating 71st Republic Day today.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 7.1 degrees Celsius yesterday.
The maximum temperature today is expected to be around 22.0 degrees Celsius, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The weatherman has forecast that a spell of showers is likely to hit Delhi on January 28 onwards due to fresh western disturbance.
Meanwhile, the overall air quality in the national capital deteriorated to “very poor” from “moderate” category.
According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital stood at 348 which falls in the “very poor” category.
The worst affected areas are Dhirpur, Delhi University, Chandni Chowk, Pusa, Lodhi Road, Mathura Road, IGI Terminal 3 and the neighboring Noida.
