Handwara, Nov 05(NVI) : Security forces in Handwara have apprehended a suspected terrorist associate and recovered arms and ammunition during a search operation in Bongam Chogul.
Officials told NVI that, the joint operation, conducted by Handwara Police, 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR), and the 92nd Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), led to the arrest of Ashiq Hussain Wani, son of Ab Kareem Wani, a resident of Tujjer Shareif, Sopore.
According to them, Wani was found in possession of a pistol, one magazine, and seven live rounds of ammunition.
Pertainly, a case under FIR No. 200/2024 has been registered at Police Station Handwara. An investigation is underway.—(News Vibes of India)
