Srinagar, Jan 09 (NVI): In a major operation, police in Kulgam, in coordination with the army and CRPF, apprehended three terrorist associates linked to terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba/The Resistance Front (LeT/TRF).
The arrests were made during the investigation of case FIR Number 02/2025 under Sections 13, 18, and 39 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) registered at Police Station Qaimoh. The arrested individuals have been identified as Ubaid Khursheed Khanday, son of Khursheed Ahmad Khanday,Maqsood Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Ramzan Bhat and Umer Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar,
All are residents of Thokerpora Qaimoh, Kulgam.
During the operation, the joint team recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including two AK-series rifles, 08 AK-series magazines, and 217 rounds of AK ammunition, 05 hand grenades and 02 magazine pouches.
Investigations have revealed that the arrested individuals were in close contact with active terrorists of the LeT/TRF and were planning to execute major terrorist activities in Kulgam district.
The police and security forces continue their efforts to dismantle terror networks in the region and ensure the safety of citizens. Further investigations are underway. (News Vibes of India)
