Srinagar (NVI): A top Al-Badr terrorist was killed in an encounter with security forces in Tujjar area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla today while arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot, police said.
Al-Badr chief Ganie Khwaja was killed in the encounter with Army and J&K police, they said, adding that search operations were underway following the recovery of incriminating materials.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight, they added.
IGP, Kashmir range, Vijay Kumar said that a major success was achieved as security forces killed Al-Badr chief Gani Khawaja. “We have killed Al-Badr chief Gani Khawaja in the ensuing encounter at Tujjar, Sopore,” IGP Kashmir said.
