Tezpur (India): An ugly clash has taken place between the troops of India and China in Tawang Sector of Arunachal Pradesh, resulting in injuries to some personnel from both sides.
Chinese PLA contacted the LAC on Dec 9 in Tawang Sector which was contested by Indian troops in a firm and resolute manner, an Indian Defence spokesperson said here.
Both sides immediately disengaged from the area, he said.
The faceoff was followed by a flag meeting by local commanders to discuss the issue in accordance with structured mechanisms to restore peace and tranquillity, he added.
This is the second time since June 2020 when the troops of the two countries have clashed in a border area.
Earlier, a bloody clash took place in Galwan area of Ladakh sector on June 19, 2020, more than a month after the Chinese Army launched aggression in a bid to unilaterally alter the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh sector.
