Peshawar: The Pakistan Army is mainly responsible for the bad condition of the country, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) said tonight while justifying its ‘jihad’ against the military as part of its objective to impose Sharia Law in the country.

In a statement, TTP said it considers the democracy in Pakistan as a “wrong system” and wants it to be replaced with the Sharia Law.

However, it clarified that political meetings, processions and polling stations are not its targets and slammed the Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies for spreading fake propaganda in this regard.

“For the past few days, Pakistani Army and intelligence agencies have been spreading fear and panic among the people by making some fake announcements,” TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in the statement.

He said although the TTP considers democracy in Pakistan as “a wrong system” and wants to implement Sharia system instead, “it is never our policy to target public places as we do not want casualties of the public in this war”.

Khurasani said TTP’s “war” is against Pakistan Army and other security institutions.

“Even in the fight against this false democratic system, we keep our goals clear. In order to avoid public losses, public meetings, processions and polling stations of political parties are not our target at all,” he added.

“However, we tell the leaders and officials of the political parties that our war for the implementation of Sharia law in the country is against the Army and the security agencies which protect this false system and therefore, the politicians should not become allies of the Army and the security agencies in this war,” he said.

Khurasani went on to add that “this (Pakistan) Army is mainly responsible for the bad situation in our country Pakistan. Therefore, there is no sustainable solution other than implementing Sharia law by waging armed jihad against the army and security agencies to correct them.”
