TTP claims killing of 13 Pakistani soldiers

Peshawar, June 28 (NVI) Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed to have killed at least 13 Pakistani soldiers and injured some others in various attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.

It said it also lost one cadre in a raid by the Pakistani army in the Lalo Kot area of Daraban in DI Khan district.

Giving details of TTP actions under ‘Operation Al Khandaq’, its spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said a mine attack was carried out on an Army vehicle in Kadma area of Tiarza in South Waziristan province yesterday.

It resulted in the killing and wounding of 6 soldiers travelling in the vehicle, which was also partially destroyed, he said.

He said an armed clash took place between the TTP cadres and the Pakistan army in Zago Sar Ground area of Sherkira Hassan Khel in Peshawar district, in which 4 soldiers were killed and several others were injured.

TTP cadres also shot and killed and army man Lance Naik Mir Badshah during an operation in Lakki Marwat province, the spokesman said.

One soldier was killed and 2 injured when a military post in Top Sar area of Sadda in Kurram district was attacked by snipers and LMGs, he said.

One more soldier was killed in a sniper attack on the same post in Kurram district, Khorasani said.

A sniper attack was also carried out on a post located in Damadola area of Wara Mamond of Bajaur district, in which 1 soldier was killed, he said.

The TTP fighters also ambushed a military convoy in the Zalul Khel area of Shewah of North Waziristan district, in which there are reports of casualties and material losses, the spokesman said.
