Peshawar (Pakistan), Jan 6 (NVI) Taking the fight against Pakistan Army further, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has announced that it will target its “real strength” which lies in the commercial establishments run by the military and the chain of its products.

As part of the fresh strategy, the TTP will target not only the Pakistani military establishments but also the commercial establishments run by them, it said in a statement to NVI.

The Islamist militant organisation asked civilians working in these establishments to look for alternate sources of income within three months, so that they do not become targets of attacks.

Shopkeepers have also been warned against selling the products of the companies run by the Pakistani military and transporters cautioned against ferrying such products.

TTP, which is at war with the Pakistani military, highlighted that the commercial establishments run by the Pakistani military are the “sources of income which enabled it to dominate the country over the past 70 years.”

“The objectives of the Pakistan Taliban are clear, and they are limited to targeting the security institutions only,” the statement said.

“And as all the people of the country know, the real strength of the Pakistani army lies in its sources of income, which enabled it to dominate the country during the past 70 years,” it added.

“In this context, the leadership of the Taliban Pakistan has decided that from now on, commercial establishments belonging to the army will be targeted along with security personnel,” the statement said.

Among the most prominent of these institutions are: NLC (FWO), Asmant al-Askari (Military Cement), Al-Musraf al-Askari (Military Bank), Sharka Askari ll Asmada (Fuji Fertilizers Company) (FFC), Pakistan Arms Factory (POF), Army Foundation, Military Foods, Military Fuels and DHA.

Civilians holding shares in these companies have been given three months to withdraw their stakes.

Regarding the shops which sell military products, the TTP has given the owners some time to liquidate these products and replace them with other alternatives.

If these products are found after the expiration of the period, such stuff would be burnt down by the TTP cadres, the statement said.

In addition, the vehicles used in transporting these products will also be burnt, it warned. (NVI)
